Sara Ihle
Vice President
The H.L. Turner Group Inc.
“If you do not have a formal mentorship program at your firm, seek resources to help you. I was fortunate to have coworkers take me under their wing and involve me in the process from project inception to completion. The knowledge, guidance, and encouragement a mentor will provide you will open doors and enhance your growth!”
Sara Ihle’s journey to the AEC industry was very unexpected. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in history she began her career working in historical societies and museums. A few years later, the recession took a toll on the non-profit sector, and she sought an alternative career. Sara came across The H.L. Turner Group Inc. in Concord, NH, a multi- disciplined architectural, engineering, and building science firm seeking an admin. She worked her way up, serving in every admin-related role, including department manager, and was promoted to Assistant Project Manager for the A&E staff in February 2023. She enjoys working on a variety of projects including dam renovations, school additions, and cleanroom design-builds, just to name a few. After 20 years of service, she is excited at how far she has come and looks forward to the future of her career path and the industry!
Sara joined the NAWIC Granite State Chapter #218 in March 2021. During her annual performance review, NAWIC was recommended as an excellent opportunity to meet fellow women in the construction industry. Not only has NAWIC provided a network to learn from strong and successful women, but it has also opened doors for Sara to engage in activities, site visits, meetings, and join the Board of Directors.
Sara enjoys creating marketing and promotional materials for the chapter and is enthusiastic about NAWIC’s outreach programs and fundraising opportunities.
